Early Life and Playing Career

Ernesto Valverde Tejedor was born on February 9, 1964, in Viandar de la Vera, Cáceres, Spain.

As a player, Valverde primarily played as a forward for several Spanish clubs, including Deportivo Alavés, FC Barcelona, and Athletic Bilbao.

Valverde began his managerial career in 2003 with Athletic Bilbao's reserve team, Bilbao Athletic.

He later took charge of several other clubs, including Olympiacos, Valencia, and Barcelona.

Valverde was appointed as the manager of Barcelona in June 2017, replacing Luis Enrique.

During his two-season tenure, Barcelona won two La Liga titles (2017-18, 2018-19) and a Copa del Rey (2017-18).
