Yankees Injury Updates: Jazz Chisholm Nearing Return
Peraza Placed on Injured List
The New York Yankees have placed shortstop Oswald Peraza on the injured list with an ankle injury. The move is retroactive to May 13th, and Peraza is expected to miss at least 10 days.
Peraza has been struggling with the injury since early May, and the Yankees decided to give him more time to recover before bringing him back into the lineup.
Hamilton to Start Rehab Assignment
The Yankees also announced that pitcher Hayden Hamilton will start a rehab assignment with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Saturday. Hamilton has been out since April 19th with a shoulder injury.
Hamilton was pitching to a 4.55 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP in 27 appearances before his injury.
Soto Avoids Serious Injury
Star outfielder Juan Soto avoided serious injury after twisting his ankle running the bases on Friday night. Soto was looked at by trainers in between innings, but he remained in the game.
The Yankees are hopeful that Soto will be able to play in Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs.
