Barry Bonds to be Inducted into Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame

Seven-Time MLB MVP to Join Franchise Legends

Pittsburgh, PA - August 24, 2024

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today that former seven-time MLB MVP Barry Bonds will be inducted into their franchise Hall of Fame when they host the Cincinnati Reds on September 15, 2024.

Bonds, who played for the Pirates from 1986 to 1992, is one of the greatest players in baseball history. He is the all-time leader in home runs (762), walks (2,558), and on-base percentage (.444).

Bonds was a key member of the Pirates' 1990 World Series championship team. He was named the National League MVP that year after hitting .336 with 33 home runs and 123 RBIs.

After leaving the Pirates, Bonds went on to play for the San Francisco Giants. He won four more MVP awards with the Giants and helped them win the 2002 World Series.

Bonds was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018. He will be the 10th player to be inducted into the Pirates Hall of Fame.

The Pirates Hall of Fame is located at PNC Park. It features exhibits on the history of the Pirates and their greatest players.
